University of Warsaw (UW) is the top higher education institution and leading research centre in Poland offering studies and specializations within the humanities, mathematical, natural sciences and medicine. UW is recognized by prestigious international rankings, such as, the ARWU Shanghai Ranking, the QS Top Universities, and the Times Higher Education World University Rankings. The University of Warsaw is the biggest Polish university with ca. 38 000 students, studying at 25 faculties and 30 divisions. University's scholars and students achieve outstanding global success in the areas, such as,  IT sciences, archaeology, astronomy, and physics. The University of Warsaw was established in 1816. It is here that the ingenious pianist Fryderyk Chopin studied, and that Nobel prize winners: Henryk Sienkiewicz, Menachem Begin, Czesław Miłosz, Józef Rotblat, Leonid Hurwicz, and Olga Tokarczuk obtained their education. Over the last 208 years UW has had the strong influence on intellectual and cultural life of the capital city of Poland.
